Smart Bengal Hackathon 2024
The Smart Bengal Hackathon(SBH) 2024, a statewide initiative in West Bengal, India, is underway! This program brings together engineering and school students to develop innovative solutions to everyday problems.
The hackathon fosters a culture of product development and equips students with valuable real-time problem-solving skills. Shortlisted teams for the senior SBH category were recently announced on April 6th.
- The competition kicks off today, April 16th, 2024 for SBH Junior and tomorrow, April 17th, 2024 for SBH Senior. The Smart Bengal Hackathon(SBH) 2024 is supported by the Department of Information Technology & Electronics (Govt. of West Bengal)

Themes of SBH 2024 include Smart Vehicle, Robotics and Drones, Disaster Management, Smart Education, Smart Automation, Intelligent Transportation and logistics, Clean/Green Technology, Renewable and sustainable energy, Blockchain and Cybersecurity, Fitness and Sports, Agriculture, FoodTech and Rural Development, Biotech and healthcare, IOT with AI, Data Privacy and Anonymisation, Cryptography, Image Processing, Power and Energy, Safety and Security (cybersecurity, emergency response systems, and personal safety innovations), Technology ideas in tertiary sectors like Hospitality, Financial Services, Entertainment and Retail, and Open Innovation.
